Reseda alba (White Mignonette)

Reseda alba (White Mignonette) is a common native plant in Gibraltar and is primarily found on open ground and clearings. It has a wide distribution covering Southern Europe, Western Asia and North Africa, and is fairly easy to grow from seed as an ornamental plant.

The following photos were taken by Kian Khalilian along Keightley way:

The tiny individual claw-like inflorescence are arranged in a dense raceme that is seen standing upright in clearings and waste grounds.

The seed capsules it produces are oblong/cylindrical and have four teeth at the apex, you can also see the persistence of the sepals post-anthesis.

The leaves are pinnatisect, margins entire to toothed.
