Amsterdam & Keukenhof Gardens - April 2025
We are delighted to invite our members to join us on an enchanting journey to Amsterdam this spring. Over the course of four nights, we will explore the stunning beauty of the Netherlands, including a memorable day trip to Lisse and the breathtaking Keukenhof Gardens, renowned as the world’s most beautiful spring garden. This special trip is perfectly timed to coincide with the spectacular Flower Parade, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse yourself in a dazzling display of vibrant colors and floral artistry. DAY 1 - Wednesday, 9th April
MALAGA TO AMSTERDAM.
Evening walking tour of Amsterdam’s Historic Old Town.
Discover the history and culture of Amsterdam's Red-light district as you explore the historic Old Town.
Stroll past iconic red-lit windows, neon signs, and hidden gems, including historic buildings and cultural landmarks. Along the way, your guide will share insightful stories, offering a deeper understanding of this unique and often misunderstood neighbourhood.
DAY 2 - Thursday, 10th April
THE REGION OF ZAANSE SCHANS - GUIDED FULL DAY EXCURSION.
Visit Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam, and Marken on a guided bus tour from Amsterdam. Admire the famous windmills of Zaanse Schans, attend a clog-making demonstration, and sample Edam and Gouda cheese. Depart Amsterdam by luxury bus on this exciting tour and head north of the city to see the historic windmills of Zaanse Schans on the banks of the river Zaan.
Explore the traditional 17th-century houses and a collection of beautifully preserved windmills from the nation’s industrial heritage. Continue on to visit Edam, a beautiful town known worldwide for its cheese. Enjoy a cheese tasting and an exciting clog demonstration.
Before the end of the day, go to Volendam and Marken, passing many authentic polders, the name given to land reclaimed from the sea. Wander down narrow streets, past colourful houses and visit the harbours full of fishing boats.
DAY 3 - Friday, 11th April
AMSTERDAM HIGHLIGHTS CANAL BOAT TOUR.
Discover beautiful Amsterdam from a unique perspective during an enchanting cruise through Amsterdam's canals.
See the Anne Frank House, the Rijksmuseum, and other notable landmarks from the boat.
DAY 4 - Saturday, 12th April
BOLLENSTREEK FLOWER PARADE & KEUKENHOF GARDENS.
The Bollenstreek Flower Parade is an annual event, this year taking place on Saturday, April 12, 2025. The parade attracts thousands of visitors and is a fantastic opportunity to admire the most beautiful flowers and stunning displays. This cherished Dutch tradition, brought to life by dedicated volunteers who work year-round, showcases the beauty and creativity of the flower region (named Bollenstreek).
Keukenhof, famously known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the largest flower gardens in the world, located in Lisse. Each autumn, over 7 million flower bulbs are carefully hand planted to bloom beautifully in the spring. With 800 varieties of tulips on display, this stunning garden is open for just two months each year, offering a truly unique and unforgettable experience for all who visit.
