We are delighted to invite our members to join us on a captivating journey to Madeira in April 2026. Over the course of six unforgettable days, we will discover the lush landscapes, vibrant gardens, and dramatic coastlines of this Portuguese island gem.
Our visit is perfectly timed to experience Madeira’s iconic Flower Festival—an annual celebration of blooming beauty and vibrant local culture. With prime bandstand seating reserved in advance, you’ll have the perfect view of all the festivities, and won’t miss a thing!

DAY 1 - Thursday, 30th April
MALAGA TO MADEIRA (Via Lisbon).
12:00 pm: Coach departs from Spanish side of the border for Malaga airport.
Fight 1: Malaga to Lisbon.
Flight 2: Lisbon to Madeira (FNC).
9:00 pm: Approx arrival into Maderia airport.
DAY 2 - Friday, 1st May
HALF-DAY CITY TOUR & BOTANICAL GARDEN
You will be collected from the hotel for a fascinating half-day tour of Funchal, Madeira’s vibrant capital.
Our first stop will be the magnificent Cathedral (entry included), a striking example of Manueline architecture and one of the island’s most treasured landmarks.
We will then explore the bustling Mercado dos Lavradores, through the atmospheric streets of Funchal’s Old Town. You’ll have the chance to browse a colorful array of regional delights, from exotic fruits and tropical flowers to the island’s famous black scabbardfish.
Madeira’s Botanical Garden (entry included).
One of Madeira’s true highlights: Perched on the hillside above Funchal, this lush oasis is home to more than 2,000 plant species from around the world, thoughtfully arranged across themed areas and beautifully landscaped terraces. As you wander through vibrant displays, you’ll be treated to panoramic views across the city and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean beyond.
It’s a feast for the senses and a must-see for any garden lover.
DAY 3 - Saturday, 2nd May
A FULL DAY - GUIDED EXCURSION.
CABO GIRÃO & PORTO MONIZ
An unforgettable day of dramatic landscapes and coastal charm.
Join us for a spectacular full-day excursion exploring some of Madeira’s most breathtaking natural wonders and picturesque villages.
In the morning, we'll depart from the hotel and head to Cabo Girão (entry included), one of the highest sea cliffs in the world. Step out onto the famous glass skywalk and enjoy the thrill of looking straight down to the ocean and terraced farmland nearly 600 metres below—a truly unforgettable view.
Our journey continues north to the charming village of São Vicente, where you’ll have time to wander along the traditional Rua de São Vicente and admire its beautiful 17th-century church, set against a lush, mountainous backdrop.
We then follow the scenic coastal road, passing cascading waterfalls and towering cliffs en route to Porto Moniz, renowned for its incredible volcanic rock pools, formed over 6,500 years ago.
(Please note: entrance to the pools is not included, but time will be given for viewing or optional entry.)
Lunch is at your leisure, with time to relax and explore at your own pace.
In the afternoon, we’ll make a final stop in the idyllic fishing village of Câmara de Lobos, famously painted by Winston Churchill during his stay on the island. With its colourful boats, seaside charm, and rich history, it’s the perfect way to end the day.
DAY 4 - Sunday, 3rd May
A DAY AT LEISURE & EVENING FADO DINNER
Spend your Sunday at your own pace—whether you prefer to relax at the hotel, stroll through Funchal’s charming streets, or explore more of Madeira’s hidden gems, the day is yours to enjoy.
EVENING FADO DINNER
In the evening, we’ll gather for a special cultural experience. You will be picked up from the hotel and taken to a traditional Portuguese restaurant, where a warm and welcoming atmosphere awaits.
Enjoy a delicious dinner featuring authentic Madeiran and Portuguese cuisine, served with care and local flair. As you dine, you’ll be treated to a live Fado performance—Portugal’s hauntingly beautiful musical tradition, recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
After dinner, we’ll return to the hotel.
DAY 5 - Monday, 4th May
A FULL DAY - GUIDED EXCURSION.
FLOWER FESTIVAL: GRAND FLOAT PARADE EXPERIENCE
Immerse yourself in the magic of Madeira’s iconic Flower Festival, a dazzling celebration of spring and one of the island’s most cherished annual events.
You’ll enjoy privileged access to reserved grandstand seating (included), offering excellent comfort and unbeatable views of the spectacular Float Parade. Watch as the streets of Funchal burst into life with vibrant floral displays, lively music, and beautifully decorated floats.
After the festivities, we’ll return you to the hotel to relax and reflect on the unforgettable day.
DAY 6 - Tuesday, 5th May
CATAMARAN TRIP
A relaxing cruise along the coast of Madeira. Includes bus collection from the hotel, to the marina.
Enjoy the views of Funchal Bay and the island’s striking green cliffs. The comfortable catamaran has an open-deck layout, with space to sit back, take photos, or simply enjoy the fresh sea air.
There’s also a good chance of spotting dolphins, and during certain times of the year, whales may be seen as well—making this a memorable way to experience Madeira from the water.
DAY 7 - Wednesday, 6th May
MADEIRA TO GIBRALTAR (Via Lisbon).
6:00 AM: Collection from hotel to Madeira airport.
Flight 1: Madeira to Lisbon.
Fight 2: Lisbon to Malaga.
Coach from Malaga airport to Gibraltar.
18:00 PM: Approx arrival into Gibraltar.
